My name is Sami Strohm, and I am a third year from Virginia Beach, Virginia double majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology. I am so incredibly excited to be the Special Events Director this year, and I have spent the past two years on Special Events before serving as director. When I'm not working with my incredible committee planning events for UVA students, I am usually hanging out with my residents, working on research in my electrophysiology lab, running around Grounds, or spending all my money on Grit Coffee. I love UVA, and UPC is a big part of that! Please reach out to me if you have any questions!

SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE
The Special Events Committee is aimed at planning both large and small events that are aimed simply at making UVA more inviting and exciting for students. Our events range from Teeny Tiny Zoo in the Amphitheater, to Puppies & Pumpkins in the fall. Our committee's goal as we go through the year is to facilitate events at which students can decompress from the stress of school, and take time to enjoy their fellow students and incredible university.

WHAT DOES UPC MEAN TO YOU?
UPC is an organization that exists simply to bring incredible music, performances, and events to UVA students. UPC is accessible to all, and programs to fill the needs of any and all students enrolled at the University.

IF YOU COULD LISTEN TO ONE SONG FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
"Crew Love" by Drake (feat. The Weeknd)

FUN FACT?
My license plate is AVCADO (because I love avocados, and AVOCADO was too long to fit on the plate).
